Privacy policy
Last updated: 17 October 2026
This policy explains what information Hayes Web & Audio (“we”, “us”) collects through hayeswa.com, why, and what choices you have. We keep it simple: we only collect what you send us through our contact forms, and we do not use advertising, tracking cookies or cross-site profiling.
Who is responsible
The data controller is John Hayes, trading as Hayes Web & Audio. You can reach us using the contact form on this site or at the email address shown by the “Show address” button on our contact section.
Information you send us
When you use a contact form we receive your first and last name, email address, the services you select, and your subject and message. We use this only to reply to your inquiry and, if we work together, to manage the project. We do not sell it, share it for marketing or add you to a mailing list.
The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries and, where relevant, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b) and (f)).
Service providers
- Netlify hosts this website and processes form submissions. Like most web hosts, Netlify’s servers record basic technical data such as IP address and browser type in server logs for security and operation.
- Google (Gmail) delivers form notifications and our email correspondence.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics gives us aggregate visitor statistics, such as page views, referring sites and country. It does not use cookies or local storage and is not used to identify or track individual visitors.
Some of these providers are based in the United States. Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, it is protected by the provider’s safeguards, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.
Cookies
This site does not set cookies. Fonts and images are served from our own domain.
Embedded videos
Our audio portfolio includes videos hosted on YouTube and Vimeo. Nothing is loaded from those services until you press play. When you do, the video is loaded from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) or from Vimeo with “Do Not Track” enabled, and that provider’s own privacy policy applies to the playback.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiry messages for as long as needed to respond and to maintain a record of our correspondence, and no longer than three years after our last contact unless you become a client, in which case project records are kept as required for accounting and tax purposes.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including the EU, UK and California, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict how we use it. To make a request, contact us using the details above. We will respond within one month.
If you are in the EU, you also have the right to complain to a data protection authority, such as the Spanish Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (aepd.es) or the authority in your own country.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
